New York based airplane crash lawyer Jonathan C. Reiter reports on a recent plane crash in the Bahamas.

Miami – Four people were killed in a small plane crash in the Bahamas on Monday, August 13. According to New York based airplane crash lawyer Jonathan C. Reiter, reports say the Cessna 340 aircraft crashed into an area of shallow water and mangrove.

“The Cessna 340 crashed on approach to Freeport on the island of Grand Bahama after taking off from Ormond Beach Municipal Airport near Daytona Beach, Florida, said Assistant Commissioner Emrick Seymour of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.”

Authorities in the Bahamas continue to investigate the crash, with the assistance of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board.

According to Attorney Jonathan C. Reiter:

Attorney Jonathan C. Reiter, whose New York based aviation accident law firm helps victims of small plane crashes with legal claims, says that cases like this can be extremely complex, even when the number of casualties is relatively small. When victims of plane crashes are not in their home country at the time of an accident, then multiple parties typically have an interest in the outcome of any related investigation.

In the case of the Bahamas plane crash, because the plane took off from within the United States and crashed outside of the country, agencies from both the U.S. and the island country were needed to participate in the search effort as well as the investigation into what caused it. This can be helpful for expediting the process of investigating these matters due to the additional resources involved, but it can also mean more red tape for families seeking answers to their important questions.

The airplane crash lawyer will continue to follow the story as it develops further.
