New York, NY --U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) www.faa.gov officials released audio of the fatal Marine FA-18 military jet crash that killed an entire man's family when it struck their home in a San Diego neighborhood. KGMB9 News reported the release of the audio on Tuesday. Since the fatal aviation accident, the Marine Corps has disciplined 13 marines, including relieving the commander of his position.
The military jet pilot slammed the FA-18 into a San Diego neighborhood when he attempted to land the crippled jet on an inland airfield. Aviation experts are questioning why the highly trained military fighter pilot did not ditch the jet over open waters before he parachuted to safety. FAA officials concur with aviation specialists stating the pilot placed innocent people in danger by crashing into the residential area. The jet exploded into two homes and damaged another three on impact. Marine headquarters have yet to review the pilot's case.
